Teamlead – Structural

PALFINGER Marine Norway is looking for a Team Lead for its Structural Department within the OC & WHA (Offshore Cranes, Winches, Handling and Access Equipment) engineering group. The team is distributed across Bergen (Norway) and Bratislava (Slovakia) and works on projects and development of new equipment. The position is based at the Nesttun office and reports to the OC & WHA Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities

• Structural assessments and calculations of structures and assemblies
• Rule assessments and ensuring products comply with applicable regulations
• Department management including guidance and follow-up of structural engineers
• Sales support with concept preparations and evaluations
• Liaison with 3rd party and classification societies

Qualifications

• MSc or BSc degree as Senior Structural Engineer; experience from leading a team is an advantage
• Understanding of structural and mechanical design; experience with cranes, lifting appliances, winches or handling equipment is an advantage
• Practical use of structural calculation tools such as Ansys, Mathcad, Staadpro or similar
• Familiarity with rules and regulations for lifting appliances and marine equipment
• Experience preparing design calculation reports for 3rd party / class societies
